Perhaps the most obvious tip of them all, but make sure you take action when you get your opportunities. These aren’t always time limited, and you aren’t competing with lots of other businesses, but it’s important to make sure you follow up on your opportunities to have a chance of winning the business!
It’s really obvious, but it’s easy to get complacent and to forget to engage your prospects. It’s about building relationships so it can take a bit longer, but you have to start the conversation to have a chance.
When you approach an opportunity to build a relationship, make sure you use the info we’ve given you as your competitive advantage. You now know what their main points are, so you’ve got the upper hand. Don’t go in like a bull in a china shop with “we heard you’re struggling with x”. Rather, take the conversation in that direction in an organic way, knowing that you’re not wasting your time because you already know the issue.

If you’re getting too many opportunities to manage yourself, get your team involved in following up and building an understanding with potential clients. If you have a dedicated sales team or business development person then even better – their role can be to support you on your Hugo opportunities each week as it gives them a great starting point to plan their week around.
